Bodypaint shoot: the essence of yoga
Bij uitzondering een stuk in het Engels op mijn blog over de yoga broek zodat mijn vrienden Irma, Miyako en Shirahama het artikel ook kunnen lezen.
WE GATHERED TOGETHER ON A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN UBUD BALI, THE TOWN OF ARTISTS AND YOGA LOVERS. WE STARTED OUR DAY WITH A DELICIOUS PERSIAN OMELET. AFTER OUR BELLIES WERE FULL AND SOFT, THE MAKING OF ART STARTED.
background of this project:
You might have noticed that the silver lining of this blog is about yoga pants and yoga clothes. The mission of this blog - as you can see on this page - is to find the world’s best yoga pants. To fulfill this mission, I take a step back and look at the bigger picture: What is Yoga about?
Yoga is about freedom of spirit, body and soul. With that in mind, why wear anything at all?”
You don't need yoga pants to do yoga. The best yoga wear is that with which we all are equipped: "The human skin". It fits like no other, is flexible, breaths, adjusts, repairs itself and radiates freedom. With the following images we are trying to portrait this essence of freedom.
I want to thank the amazing artists Irma, Artisan ShiraHama and Miyako for helping with this project. It was an amazing day. I invite you to enjoy the results the same way.
See here a reflection of our ideas about yoga
Yoga is about Inner Freedom
Do yoga the way you like it and wear what you like
No rules, do what you feel like.
MODEL MIYAKO ANDO about yoga pants
“Normally I wear my ten year old yoga pants and they’re great. No stitches. They never slide down. I do not want to pay a lot of money for yoga pants. Sometimes I feel that for some people yoga is all about how you look; Commercialization of something spiritual.”
“I feel upset. I still have an ego. I was honest about my feelings about yoga and yoga pants. But I said those things and it made me look better than other people. Like I know and they are ignorant.”
I love Miyako she is the most honest and vunerable person I have ever met. Find more information about Miyako here.
Artisan Shirahama from Japan is a tattoo artist by profession and loves body painting.
I don’t want to be afraid to be vulnerable. That's why I published my body paint picture. This expression: honesty, acceptance and being true to yourself are, for me, the values of yoga..
